Per Charles Oppenheim, Chief of Immigrant Visa Control and Reporting Division at the U.S. Department of State (DOS) the visa numbers for EB2 and EB3 - India & China to Stay at Current Levels in year 2007.

Employment-Based Second Preference / EB2
The employment-based second preference (EB2) category is expected to remain at its current cutoff dates for nationals of India and China. These dates have been stagnant at April 22, 2005 for China and January 8, 2003 for India for a few months.
Employment-Based Third Preference / EB3
No forward movement is expected for the employment-based third preference (EB3) category. In fact, as predicted in the March Visa Bulletin and confirmed by Mr. Oppenheim, there is a strong possibility that the EB3 numbers that are not in the "worldwide" chargeability will further retrogress, or move backward. This is expected to occur in the summer of 2007. This backward movement is based upon excessive demand for the limited supply of visa numbers. This will adversely affect nationals of India and China.
This means it is much more important and essential to get Congress to allot more numbers for Legal Immigration or lease we will be struck with this in GC black hole for years to come.
Guys wake up and start talking to Senators, Congressmen. Get your employers to send letters to Congress. Help IV by contributing and increasings IV membership, spread the word among you foreign friends , students.

There is a website called Google. Its amazing in that it is above nationality and responds to every "is which of the two"
Very innovative. It did not help as a lot of Junior Members were rather talking unwanted crap than discussing on the real point. I was and am hoping for something better here.

My followup qn to this is ..
If I get my 3yr H1 extn approved (before 140 cancellation) with company B and company A revokes my approved 140, is it possible to transfer my priority date(of the approved 140 ..which is now revoked by company A) to my new 140 filed by company B?

A priority date can only be recaptured from one approved I-140 to another approved I-140, regardless of whether an I-485 was filed or not.
Please check with your attorney.

It's true that one has to mention about 485, select a choice between consular processing vs processing with in USA. this is usually done while applying for 140.
However, one can always make an amendment (to either approved 140 or 140 in pending ) to change the choice
by doing so, one has to wait for a bit longer time. (but, what difference it makes in these days of retrogression?)
I heard Changes must be made in I140 to do Consular processing from I485

I think this has happened a lot and not sonething to worry about before December. If by then you haven't received the receipt - then call them.

Probably that is what will happen. The last 45 days have been extremely stressful on the applicants and lawyers. I hope USCIS ignores some simple mistakes.

It would be helpful to others if you can blog the cover letter and the AP explanation letter.
Great, so I see so many fast cases here.
I had all my docs well organized, also put tabs corresponding to the list numers on cover letter for quick access. I also included self addressed prepaid priority envelope.

I wonder if MSNBC, CNN, FOX ever covered any of legal immigrants stand against the present immigration mess. I don't see any news about the flower campaign, about visa bulletin fiasco, or even the rallies that we have been doing? The fight has been very strong and unity is finally in place.
Am I missing something here? Most of us sent so many mails to these bigwigs and nobody showed our news and plight on their news?

I believe the AP needs to be approved before the person leaves the country for it to be used while coming back. This needs to be clarified though.
From your post, it sounds like she doesn't have an H4 stamp on her passport, but only the approval notice. She can't re-enter the US only by showing the approval notice at the port of entry. She needs to have the stamp on her passport as you already may be aware of.
Sending AP (or any other immigration document in original) outside of the US (e.g., to India) via courier/mail is risky, if not forbidden by law.

Needed evidences:
1. 2 Passport size photos in USCIS specs.
2. Form I-693 completed by civil surgeon.
We did submit all these requested I-693 and photos during the initial filing. My question is, does USCIS request for new I-693 if the original one submitted is older than one year or more?
As far as i know medicals are valid for 2 1/2 years.
Answer to your next question is, there could be many possibilities.
1. USCIS might have lost your original 693
2. There could be something which is not clear in the original 693 etc
Don't worry much. Just give them what they asked.
Its good that they opened your file.

I filled one PERM in Mar 06 that was in EB2 and i also filed one in JUN 07 that was also in EB2 and now one more in EB2. :D :D :D (moral of the story, EB2 or EB3 or EB1 doesn't matter, what matters is destiny, if you are destined to get GC you will get it else no matter how much you apply you will always be in Queue)

Well, right now it is all "U" on the visa bulletin, you are right. But I assure you that come October and the following months there will be visas for our Egyptian friend and ROW.
No, EB3 ROW has been retrogressed for years. I HIGHLY doubt that this will change dramatically come October. As everyone knows, the common assumption is that Priority dates will be similar to January of this year, which means that EB3 ROW PD will be 01AUG02

Your friends that you refer to must not have been EB3, it is highly unlikely that they got their greencards in under a year if they were. Since the OP didn't say what category they were in, we have to think about all possibilities.

If senior citizens have to travel frequently from India to the Bay area (California) what is the most preferred airlines?
Points of comparisons would be pricing (frequent flyer discounts), leg room, optimum layover, wheelchair facility, good in-flight attendance, food and so on...the experience with the emirates has been ok thus far.
emirates didn't provide the wheel chair at the airport although it was made available in india and sfo. also the leg from dubai to sfo is very long.
please share your experiences and provide your feedback.
