I agree, It is just that I'm so frustrated to see them doing almost nothing since they came to power. All they talked since then is reservations...not a single project. After 2 years in power only 1 project they have initiated since then is this airport upgradation project that too is Vajpayee government's brainchild.

I am july 2nd filer and for dependant the case has been rejected for missing signature.My lawyer is refiling it today. I have following questions can some one clarify me?
1) Is there any precautions that i should take while re-filing?
2) Will USCIS accept the app or should they make me wait for my PD?

I had my FP done at San Jose ASC and It took us around 15 min for the entire process of filling the forms,waiting to be called for FP and doing the actual FP.
The lady asked me to sign on an electronic pad(some people reported that they were asked to write their full name and sign at the bottom) which I did and she gave us some feedback forms to fill out and drop in the suggestion box.
It was easy for me to locate the ASC because i used to commute by Charcot drive to take 87 on my way back home from my old office :)
A friend of mine went without the receipt. Only his wife had the receipt. They printed his receipt right there... Even tho his appnt was a week later they did his FP the same day... he had no problems with the security guard... I guess its just ur luck!

First of all you are not supposed to involve in any of the PERM process. Its plain illegal. It seems you are taking the wrong route for your porting.
I know but when there is a chance, we must make sure. Who told u that always works.
They advertise in the company's message board and recently I have seen they did not mention anything about qualifications for one EB2 GC of my friend.
Hence I got a doubt.

Is there a way to get an English translation of my birth ceritificate in the US? I have the original with me and to send it to India and get it done seems like a pretty big deal.
Can anyone please advise? Requesting transalation from Marathi to English...

There is no issue with going for fingerprinting after getting GC. So no big deal if that is your concern. They will not cancel your daughter's green card just because she went for fingerprinting responding to the notice received from USCIS. Don't think too much. Your GC might be in the pipeline. In the meantime, relax and enjoy the wait time.

But I am Commerce graduate (3 years) from India and with over 11 years of IT experience, am I eligible for EB2? Can I use my experience to make up for 1 year. If not, can you suggest 1 yr. online degree (acceptable to USCIS) to be eligible for EB2.

Thanks desi - AOS is what I was thinking as well but that doesn't seem to be one of the options listed when opening an account (the firm is Ameritrade - you check out their website https://wwwna.tdameritrade.com/cgi-bin/apps/IraApServlet). Guess they are just not aware of this status since it wasn't really designed to be a "status" and only recently have several people moved to AOS status given the backup for EB3 and EB2 China/ India

Thank you very much. do you know suppose if we go for stamping our visa and for some reason they reject it, can we still enter USA? I am just trying to evaluate different options and the risks in each of them so that we can choose the best that works for us....
What you are talking about is an automatic visa revalidation. You can re-enter the US from Canada on an expired visa if you have a valid I-94 and h1 extension. However, if you visa stamping is denied for any reason while being in Canada, you will NOT be able to re-enter anymore. Usually, the consular officer takes away your I94 or makes a note that a visa was not issued. At that point, you need a valid, unexpired visa to re-enter the US, or you have to go to your home country for visa stamping.

This shouldn't be a problem if you are a law obeying citizen :D How do you find out the status of the FBI name clearance? You wait until PD becomes current and nothing happens then place an inquiry with BCIS?

As part of Class action lawsuit can we ask for recapturing of all unused visa numbers? I believe the number is at least 300K, it covers the green cards for 2003, 2004 and 2005. 2006 can go with 2008 quota. So everyone will be happy.
I believe this is the provision we should fight for instead of CIRcus.
What are your thoughts?

I agree with you. I am not able to access donor forums.I've contributed in the past. Even I've sent an email through contact us link, still no luck. "Administrator2" gave a good explaination about the Donar status. I am not looking for "Donor" status, all I am looking for is accessing the donor forums.
I wanted to find out if the past donations made by people like me are good enough to get us donor status. But I have only landed with circuitous answers to this issue.
Honestly, I couldn't give less tail about the donor status. What I really care about is being up-to-date with what is happening so that I can lend a helping hand in ways I can.
It seems like maybe some action is going down in the donor forums and ppl like us are left to wonder what is up. I don't think anyone cares to even post updates,albeit delayed, in the open forums about what is happening. It is just making for a really dry experience with IV lately.
What gives?

Interesting. This is my first autofocus camera. Maybe I'm trusting autofocus too much? I'll try again with a smaller aperture and maybe do a manual focus. Maybe it's just a learning curve, but I have this camera with all of this automation and it seems that, more often than not, I'm shooting in manual mode and now considering using manual focus. With my AE-1 and A-1 bodies I rarely used the automated modes. I was hoping the 300D would be better, but it seems that when I use an automated mode I'm not happy with the settings it chooses. Do you folks with the professional cameras use the automated settings very often? How about autofocus?Or do I just need to get better at understanding the automated capabilities and use them properly.

As good as autofocus is, it is still "dumb" - it has no concept of what you WANT in focus. It just hunts down an area with a sufficient contrast gradient and locks onto it. The focus rectangles are only an approximation of the area evaluated by the AF logic, anyway. In fact, the target area is almost twice the size of the marker in your view finder.
So it's not perfect, not foolproof. I almost always am in Av or Tv mode, occasionally M. I have yet to use the automatic modes with the little pictographs. When I know I need control of depth of field, I set the aperture in Av. When I know I need to freeze the action, I set the shutter speed in Tv. Sometimes, M is called for (like shooting a macro closeup with flash).
The "crop factor" (a D60/10D/DRebel sensor that is 62% of a full-frame 35mm film body) only compounds the problem because the things that are out of focus are 1.6 timse bigger and therefore 1.6 times more noticable.
The guy who coined the phrase, "Practice makes perfect" had to have been a photographer. :)

I think she need to fill I-9 form to switch to EAD and thus switching out of H1.
Right now she is on H1 as well as AOS.
How will a person fill I-9 form when she is not working. she lost her H1-B status when she stopped working. Now she will be on AOS. I do not think anything needs to be done
