I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS...this morning 10:00AM CST we got the CPO emails for both of us...
I just can not thank Aall of you enough and the IV community for the support they have provided over the last few years - especially since Sept 1.
THANK YOU GOD - THANKS FOR LISTENING.
I will be around - not going anywhere and will support IV efforts!
BEST OF LUCK FOR THOSE WHO ARE WAITING...Believe me "appka bhi number aayega" I was loosing hopes - since Sept 1 when saw number of approvals after my PD/RD/ND etc..but there is really nothing that can predict this system.

I think you got a very good point here.
If India is really good economically, people from all over the world would be going there and find job.
There are people from even poorer countries coming to India for education and employment and so.
I agree that property is getting expensive by second in India, Some times it makes me think, most of us who wants to go back might not go back for wrong economical resons, Don't you think this is what happened to many people who migrated to African countries before Indian Independence. Most of them never visited India in their life time(I attribute most of them to economic reasons). I am not if this is a paradox or anticlimax.

If possible taken an infopass appt. They might be able to tell you the correct status of your appln.
BTW: Does any one know how long does it take for a decision to be made on an application once it has been pre-adjudicated and assiged to an IO?:confused:

Small query. If I am in my sixth year of H1B today, and if I file for H1 extension,
1. with same employer, I actually got 3 years extension. (being 140 approved)
2. with diff. employer, would I get 3 years or just six months, or not at all?
With different employer, you can get 3 years as well, if the new employer has filed for a new PERM and you have received an approved I-140.

Advantages of EAD far outweigh the disadvantages. Unmarried individuals of PD 02,03,04(eb3) might have a reason to worry but not the rest.

Thanks for all the replies! I already contribute to IV, so all the mails about contributing to IV can stop :) You dont need to sell me IV.
I am considering an opportunity, but if I leave I might lose my PD as my current employer does withdraw the I140.
Without any reform, my guess is it is going to be 5+ years for my date to be current. Just wanted to hear a few other opinions.
Also, if there is any impending relief (like 485 filing by 2/15 thats being discussed), I would be interested in hearing about it. It would be terrible for me if I move and then a relief is passed immediately in the congress.

this seems to be the plan all along. Keeping pushing the ammendments and divert the discussion from the actual issues. A tactic to run down the clock, shows that he is doing something but nothing gets done. Helps the anti immigrants but royally screws us. Same will happen in the House and Senate if this thing moves forward....just venting after watching this snail crawl..god knows why they waste taxpayer money by adding ammendments and wasting everybodies time.

In any system if you club large group of applicants based on a dichotomy, and say you will get lesser share than the rest, isn't that how you describe preferential treatment ? Is there any other way to describe the current country-quota system?

What would be so different between the two, in terms of social contribution to the US, that the 'diversity' rule makes an actual difference? Again what is the great benefit achieved by making it easier for one group to get a GC over the other? You can even think of other examples too.
I dont' want to start off a culture war here by making controversial statements, but try to understand the core of what I'm trying to say. That is, there is no perceivable difference between you and I, at least in terms of employability, that this diversity concept can make a meaningful benefit out of.
In fact it probably makes much more economical sense to have quotas based on the subject's political or scientific inclination rather than national origin! In today's connected world, nationality has no meaning.

Let's pick up where we left off before this July 2 visa bulletin debacle (and the resulting struggle). Though the whole fiasco did get us our first taste of success, imho, and as such isn't insignificant by any measure.
