People didn't seem to care about the "gay plague" because it only affected gays. People cared about Ryan White and the Ray brothers, they didn't care about iniquitous obnoxious gays and lesbians.
So then they had sex with the person of opposite gender, they adopted or test tube baby.

I'm assuming that you are talking about ACT UP and their tactics...but iniquitous? Really? A bit dramatic even for you. They did what had to be done in a time when nobody wanted to acknowledge what was happening. And they also tried to fight the ignorance that was associated with the disease..IE..."gay plague". Is a "test tube baby" (I do hope you know there are much more modern ways) by a gay/lesbian any less than that of a straight person? Does it matter how we are having them? The point is that we are. And snide remarks doesn't negate it. I understand that the concept is scary for you and people who think like you. I do hope that you can learn to adapt to our changing world. Because people like you are going to be left behind if you keep thinking and acting this way.

and also: are we not able to change things like the "downloads" icon in the dock at all? i can change all of the other ones but i haven't gotten it to work for that one. i didn't have any trouble with documents or the trash so i didn't think there would be a problem with downloads. x.x
You should be able to change your Downloads folder, I've changed my Applications, Utility, Documents & Downloads earlier today. Open the Downloads folder in Finder / Get Info / Under the Sharing & Permissions tab make sure you give "everyone" the privilege to Read & Write. You should now be able to change the smaller icon up top to your choosing.

Uh, yeah. I remember back in the Napster days, when that was the only way to get music.
It's a shame there weren't any record stores around back then, able to sell music on a form of portable media - sort of like those discs software comes on. You know, CDs. But for music! What a concept!
Anyone who downloaded from Napster with the excuse that they couldn't find contect elsewhere (like via Tower Records and a CD ripping program) is just plain lame...
It was the only way to get a single track from a CD, which is really the appeal of iTMS, not so much the fact it's a download.

Every time I see a blood drive my blood just boils... As an HIV negative gay man who is in a monogamous committed long term relationship with my partner, I doubt I am any more of a risk then any other heterosexual couple in a relationship, yet they don't see it that way....

I've been following this thread while I anxiously await the new webmail too, and this morning I saw something in Future Shop's flyer that I figured the rest of the (Canadian) dotmac community would be interested in: it's on sale until the 26th for only $69.99 (Cdn). May unlock iphone is now searching for a signal. Every-time i make a call and hang up, i loose signal and phone beeps twice. I have done a restore, but no help.

I have no idea. That's how it's always been for me. I assume it uses the plist converter from Xcode. What versions are you running? I'm using path finder build 1045, Xcode build 4b33a, and OSX build 11a444d.
Ah well, I don't have Xcode installed on my macbook. It's installed on my iMac. Maybe that's why it isn't using the strings converter from Xcode.
I'll check it when my iMac comes after repairs.
Somebody must do a grep in PrivateFrameworks or root (/) to find more instances of the same.

I have found a lot of instances; may be you can decode them better through this strings converter.

I just changed it. I like to take screensavers from netcarshow.com, although if I find a few nice ones on here I'll probably change it again :) I think it's like the US Qashquai - not terribly exciting but there you go.

I agree that the new design is very bland. I think they know what they are doing. The car companies seem to believe that this type of design will sell the most cars in the U.S. The Hyundai Sonata is a slight break from this mold.
I don't think the new Jetta and Passat are ugly, but the style is most definitely boring.
The new Sonata takes a few cues from the Mercedes Benz CLS. Some might all it a bit fussy but it is at least not boring.

I ask this simple question for you memory geeks out there. When will a 2 gigglebyte chip of the same form factor become available sufficient for a Shuffle "second generation", "version 2"?Already is. But Apple can't/won't offer 2GB or 4GB Shuffles 'cause that's Nano territory.

Why does it take a media storm for Apple to open up on an issue ? It would be so much better if they more forthcoming and frank before an issue snowballs.
While its obvious you never say anything positive about Apple I have to ask you this, did you even read the article? Did you read the part where they talked about tracking down the issue and making a report to release to the public? You do realize this stuff takes time right and isn't something that can be done instantly don't you?
