Just curious, why didn't you file in June 07? Your PD was current then? You would have been way ahead had you filed in June.

It mentions that in any of the incorrect filing, cases will be rejected...
does that mean I-485 is rejected for good or one cannot apply it again until PD becomes current in future?

yes, you will miss the window if dates retrogress but this is the safest approach as if you used company A's GC then u have to work for that company A after getting ur GC. You start applying to Company A for employment in the same job

Hi ,
Our attorney mailed our applications to NSC on 7thJune and thru USPS tracking number, we know it has reached NSC on11th June early morning. Have called NSC 5 times in last 3weeks, but every time, I am told our data is not in the system.... Our attorney is asking us to hold on for some more time, till he hears from his bank if the checks have been encashed??? But till now, no news...
Kindly let us know, if anybody who have filed at same time and have not yet received any update???

My I-140 got approved in Texas and my I-485 & EAD filed in Nebraska on July 2nd.
My 485 case has been transferred to Texas.
Yesterday I & my family all got reciepts .
Good thing is status of EAD changed to Card Ordered.
So just relax who all are in the same boat.

My wife has ITIN till last year and we filed jointly. This year she has a social security number and we filed using social security number. Return was rejected by IRS saying that my wife's last year's AGI is wrong. Has anyone run into this ? What was the resolution ?
This happened to me as well. The efile will fail because of the switch from ITIN to SSN. I then did not efile my taxes instead mailed it to the IRS. Next year you should be able to efile since the record is straight with the IRS.

Employer cannot revoke I-140 application after 180 days of filling I-485. No matter what the scenario is.
Can someone use AC21 if the I-140 is not approved? I think it is risky because employer can revoke I-140 and you will be OOS

I think if 5000 people from EB3 India with PD in 2007 moved to EB2, then that means 5000 people are reduced from the EB3 India queue?
The fact is those 5000 people are not in the begining of the line. So you don't see date movement for EB3.

Hey Bro, as far as I know they only test for HIV, Siphilis,TB and Gonorrhea. I am loking at the copy of my medicals right now and I don't see Herpes mentioned anywhere. So I dont think the blood test looks for that. So don't jump the gun and tell the surgeon that you have it. My surgeon didn't even do a genital exam only checked my groin for lymph nodes. SO as far I can see you will be OK. Just take it easy and go for the test. ;)

till date. If this guy get a pre approved labor let him accept
it and get ahead. Nobody blocks you to accept pre approved
labor. I'm retrogressed with PD of 2003 on EB3 India. But for
that reason I dont think I'm going to shout at somebody using
a pre approved labor and get ahead of me.

The reason I am doing paper based is that current immigration question. In efile you have to make a selection which apparently doesnt have the AOS option. On paper based we can put, Adjustment of Status (I-485 Pending).

I know this is a little late, but based on the ridiculous snail speed of the VB, this is the first time I scrutinized my I-485 receipt and the USCIS online case check.
I, like a lot of others, got my I-140 approved, and then slipped in my I-485 application during the July VB fiasco of 2007.
I have a PDF of the FedEx delivery receipt/signature that it was delivered to the USCIS on July 28th, 2007, a Saturday
On my Receipt, it says the "Received Date" is July 30th, the Monday. I am not going to dispute that 2 days, especially since it was a Saturday.
BUT when I go online to check my case status through the USCIS website, it says
On September 5, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. I maybe being silly here, but I'd appreciate anyone that can answer my question. I mean, their computer is saying they got my package on September 5th! This doesn't even make sense, cos the July VB fiasco window was over by Aug 15th back in 2007!
Also, just so I know, anyone got their July VB packaged delivered on a Saturday but got a receipt date for the Monday after? (I'll feel a little better if I know I am not cheated here)
Now, i can get back to being grumpy about the VB retrogression/non-movement saga of 2009.

My company is closing offices and we all will be working from home. My I140 is cleared and I am in process of extending my H1 which expires in june 09.company has no office at india.
I want to know for how long I can work from India on H1 being on US payrole? The

Why are you even bothered about H1B status when you are working from India ? ( You don't need an H1B status to work from India. You can be on US payroll as long as your company is ok with that.)
When you are in India, you can apply for an H1B and get a visa stamping while coming back.

EAD needs same or similar job requirement as petitioned in your labor.
With this economy going south and as forecasted will recover after 2nd quarter of 2010, I hope you have sufficient funds to keep the business working. People are getting laid off. Walmart made good bucks during the recession. If i were you, i would buy a 99 cents store or a dollar store to keep up with this recession.

Mean time shall i work hourly job and get around $1200 per month with same job description with using my EAD(new company will run payroll and W2). For the hourly job they asking to fill I-9(employment eligibility verification will inform USCIS). On that form asking my A# with EAD expiration date.
Is there a chance USCIS will know my hourly job?. My concern - this hourly job will create a problem for my GC process (chance to get REF) because rate is low

Thanks a million MatsP. Here's proof of what I wrote about still learning about this camera after 4 years: I'd never come across EXIF before and after searching through the camera manual I figured I probably didn't have it. Just in case, though, I rumaged around in Irfan and Picture Window Pro and found that all that EXIF information is there after all and I never knew it. I will now take a photo at what I have calculated is the 50mm standard equiv focal length and then check the EXIF to see how close it is.
So, I'm really grateful for your drawing that to my attention. By the way, Farmborough - brings back memories of cycling from the RAE YMCA through to NGTE each day some 25 years ago. I know the YMCA's not there any more and I'm sure the RAE and NGTE have undergone many changes of name since then.
