The above suggested url is to NIH fellows committee, mainly consisting of postdocs. Most of the members should be working in Bethesda, and Frederick areas of Maryland and DC. It would help, for the Wpost article, to contact someone in this group and target some foreign researchers...as it falls right in the area.
FYI: many post graduate employees of NIH, immigrants / non-immgrants (J1) work as consultants to staffing companies contracted by NIH for the purpose.
They are not exempted from H1B cap and I believe cannot even process regular EB2 labor, but only EB2 NIW.

Politely: I think that my time can be better spent distributing fliers. My time is limited, if I attend this I won't have much time to distribute fliers. So unless someone convinces me why this is more important I won't be attending.

But isn't AC21 for a different position irrespective of whether you use it in the same company or different company. Technically you are suppose to be in same occupation till you get your green card Which is problem for me because i am trying to use the benefits obtained (EAD and AP) from my EB3 position and being promoted to a EB2 position while using the EAD and AP of my EB3 application

If I wait until my new I140 got approved through new employer and then switch. Now a days because of PERM process and premium processing for I140, it may be approved within two months.
Then even if the old employer withdraws 140, does it effect the priority date of already approved 140?
Do any one has answer for this? Please respond

well you have to know that a sizable percentage of illegals are also criminals. My guess is 10-30%. you should know they have a bigger incentive to come here to establish "business"
No price is too much to deport criminals. As for the regular illegals, there may be a better solution to be debated.
The criminals should be put in the prison at country of origin. Well we have to pay the police anyway. With criminals there is no option of not spending.
1 way plane ticket - a maximum of $500-1000.
Put them in a police bus/army truck = 50-100 per head

My first term on H1 expired on June 2002. I revalidated it and the second term also got expired as of June 2004. Since I was in US only for 3 years on that H1, is it possible to revalidate it again now, even I'm not working for company A now? Company A can file for revalidation for recapturing the remaining time on H1 but you may to work with them once the H1B's gets approved..

I was thinking of askign my lawyer to change my case from non rir to rir ?
i was wonderign if anyoenhas done it? and what are the risk factors in changing from non rir to rir?
My pd is oct2002? nothign heard after teh 45 day letter....

There is no -ve impact on coverting to RIR. If RIR is denied, you will still be processed as TR. You wont loose your PD

I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.
I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.

My mom's a Gynecologist. She got her MBBS and MS from India in 1978. She has been working in India since then.
How can she start practicing in the United States? I have absolutely NO idea. I have heard about the USMLE Exam, but is it necessary for a person with 25+ years of experience? Will she have to do her medical-residency AGAIN?

Yes, I guess it is absolutely necessary to pass the different stages of USMLE and then do residency and based on what speciality one gets in to,irrespective of what background is. Usually OB/Gyn takes upto 5-6 yrs..down the lane. Please google up USMLE and medical practice in US, you will find more answers.

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

Hello All,
I am on 7th year of my H1 and my I-140 is pending. Since my current H1 is about to expire, I need to file for my 8th year of H1 extension. Do you think there could be some problem in getting my 8th year extension since my labor is approved and I-140 is pending. The way I interpreted the extension rule is that you can only get the extension if your labor is pending for more than 1 year but in my case my labor is approved and I-140 is pending.And I cannot wait for I-140 approval since my current H1 is about to expire.
Please advise.

When does your current I-129 expire? The reason I ask is that if you have some time you can convert your pending I-140 to premium processing and get it turned around in 15 days (provided there is no problem with your company financial statement ). Once you have an approved I-140 you can then request 3 year H1 extn.
As your case stands right now (approved labor & pending I-140) my read is that you are eligible for 1 year extn. The $1000 spent on I-140 premium processing with definitely pay dividends with a 3 Year H1 extn.

Interesting poll. I have a small suggestion, though.. If you want unbiased data, you cannot ask leading questions on any survey. For instance, if you ask "Are you a free-rider?", and you are clearly conveying what is the "right" answer.
Ask very neutral questions on the poll. Also, make it anonymous to encourage participation. Pare down questions so that they are distinct and mutually exclusive.
At least that way you'll get better data to work with for analysis.

I also end up calling German Embassy and they told me that as long as you have extended H1B petition handy, VISA is not required.
