This is absolutely amazing. This could easily be frontpage news for more people to see. It would be great if more app devs got involved with this.

Are you sure? When I open disk utilities and check my SSD hd it does not see the 64GB partition that Windows 7 uses. So how will it recognize it on the external hd?
not sure why your disk utility is not seeing your bootcamp partition. it can see my bootcamp partition.
either way, give it a try. plug in your external HD and open disk utility. it'll see your partitions then go from there.

I've been looking at the lacie dvd burners and external HDs as well. Really like the F.A. Porsche design too. But alas, I've not yet taken the plunge. If you do, can you post a snippet about its performance? Thanks.

Pretty good movie. Doesn't hurt that Anne Hathaway is naked a lot. Very naked.

Based on the number of problems people have reported with 3rd party batteries, I wouldn't trust or recommend any battery not made by Apple.

anyone else have any recommendations?
I need a reliable company that has been around for a while.
Check Out Midphase.com or Autica.com, Midphase owns Autica, Im just not sure which one does dedicated servers, both might tho.
I have a midphase account that isn't dedicated and I have not had any problems with them at all. Tech support is great and uptime has not been an issue.

You have to turn data off to avoid any data flow between the iPhone and the network.

I'm serious. There is nothing like Foobar for OS X. Well... I guess there is VLC.
That is all I can think of. The reason there is no wide variety on OS X is because iTunes is pretty much the best, even if it is bloated and doesn't play some higher quality formats.

Even after a lifetime of using computers, you occaisionally run into a problem you can't fix on your own.
I've seen bugs even the 14 books on OS X that the biggest bookstore had in store, didn't mention.
Apple has a large set of known problems and workarounds you can search, but not everything is documented, specially not very recent bugs.
Forums on websites are better, since they are a permanent form of communication, but older discussions are often hard to find. Also, users are scattered over dozens of forums.
Why not use the best of both worlds and build a website where everyone can look up AND add problems AND solutions?
Kind of like a Wiki, but better organised into a streamlined, multiple-choise system, protected and with a (hidden)email system to warn users of new content, like in a forum.
I can't find such a system (do you? let me know!), so I intend in building it myself if I have to. I have a 'dummy version' set up over here (http://beeldbuijs.nl/releaf_0.3) with just some fake text, to give you something more 'real' to look at.

A friend has Springsteen tickets for the Oakland Coliseum, one of which is for me.
I chose wisely, which means Saturday A.M. for Leopard. Maybe there will be some shirts left.

I've decided to try folding again, and I'm trying to run it on my MBP (in sig), but it won't connect to the assignment server. I'm going to leave it running overnight, but it hasn't worked so far. I'm using the console version. Would it be better for me to use InCrease?
I'm coming for you Dread! I'll be spitting out crazy WU's with this machine and my 1.1 GHz Celeron PC!
Thanks.

Run hardware test.
What monitor/s and how are they connected?
Cheers
Hadn't thought of running a hardware test. Thanks.
I am using an 22" Viewsonic LED connected via MiniDisplay Port/MiniDisplay-DVI adapter.

This was a great video. If your interested in Leopard (which is a version of OS X BTW), its a must see.
The slides show some of the presentation a little more clearly, but they aren't useful by themselves.

How much data do you have? Apple offers up to 750GB drive in MBP but from aftermarket, you can get up to 1.75TB (1TB+750GB) in the MBP. In the end, this boils down to do you need the portability or not. You already have an iPad so do you think you would be carrying the MBP with you?
For your usage, MBP is fine, as long as you go with a 15" or 17".

So I just came across this on Yahoo. I guess I can see why they would claim some of their effots are 'legitimate' but it'd be hard to deny that weren't other motives. What do you think, are college students mature enough to vote or should they grow up a little?

I honestly do not have an issue with them losing same day registration but I have been in state that has like a 30 day requirement before hand. It does prevent people from really screwing up were they vote.
Students can still vote just getting the absent ballet. Not that hard to do. Just a little extra paper work to fill out. I did it in 2004.

I just did some limited file movement to confirm it would still recognize the drive without formatting it for the enclosure. I think it is safe to say that it would run slow as molasses over USB versus internal.
I'm curious to see how a TB external with non-ssd drives connected to a MBP run versus internal drives on a MP...got my fingers crossed and hope the drives are the limiting factor.
